MOUNT VERNON – Audrey L. Snow, 103, of Newark passed away on Jan. 9, 2023, at SharonBrooke Assisted Living. She was born on Oct. 9, 1919, in Mount Vernon to the late Cecil J. and Ida (Gaumer) Horn.
Audrey retired from the Newark Advocate in the early 80s. She was a volunteer at Licking Memorial Hospital for over 30 years, with over 5,000 hours of volunteer time. She was a true believer in Jesus and enjoyed studying the Bible. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved her tomato plants and roses.
She is survived by her sons, Hal (Sandra) Snow of Cincinnati, Bernie (Ginny) Snow of Newark, Marvin (Terry) Snow of Newark, Gene (Bunny) Snow of Cincinnati and Duane (Brenda) Snow of Newark; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Snow; brother, Bill (Betty) Horn; sister, Winifred (Bob) Hall and twin sister, Agnes (Noble) Snow.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Union Grove Cemetery, Gambier, with Pastor Gary LaRue officiating.
