MOUNT VERNON – Babies are born on a regular basis at the Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care at Knox Community Hospital, but the first baby born in each new year is always an extra special moment. Nathaniel R. Sullivan was born at 12:46 a.m. on Jan. 1 to proud parents Angel and Dominick Sullivan of Mansfield, Ohio. Baby Nathaniel weighed in at 7 pounds and 6 ounces.
His mom, Angel, said, “We chose Nathaniel because we thought it was a strong name, but also because it means ‘God has given, or gift of God.’ ” In addition, she stated that Nathaniel is their “rainbow baby,” which means a healthy baby born to a family that has suffered the loss of a previous baby or child. Angel said, “We’re extremely happy that God has blessed us with little Nathaniel.”
The Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care opened in early 2020 as part of the new Wright Family Medical Pavilion at KCH in Mount Vernon.
On average, more than 500 babies are delivered at the facility each year. For more information, go to Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care.
