Friday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. Recipe Exchange: The theme for this month is comfort food. Prepare your favorite comfort food to share with the group. Remember to bring the recipe too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share, and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks will be provided.

Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 5 p.m. Crafting with Melissa: Join us and create your own yarn wall hanging. Please call the library or stop in to register for this event. All materials are supplied.

Wednesday, Jan. 11, 18 and 25 at 10 a.m. Story Time with Miss Kathy: Join Miss Kathy for stories and activities for children birth to preschool age.

Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. Lunch and a Lesson: Learn how to identify and avoid internet, mail and phone scams. Join us for an informative lesson on this increasing crime against individuals of all ages. A light lunch will be provided. Please call the library or stop in to register.

Thursday, Jan. 12 and 26 at 5 p.m. Ukulele Association of Homer: This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Thursday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. Homeschool Program: This program is designed for homeschool students of all ages. This month you will learn about animal habitats. If you have questions, please call Kathy at the library for more information.

Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 5:30 p.m. Teen Crafting: Join us and make a pull-string art design on canvas. Registration is required. Please call or stop by the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. Movie and Pizza Night: Watch a movie with us and enjoy pizza too. The movie is Hidden Figures (2016) and is rated PG. Registration is required by Wednesday, Jan. 18. Call or stop by the library to save your spot.

Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. Homer Historical Society: Come and join us for an informal discussion of local history.

Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. Teen Paint Night: Join us and create a cool winter snowman painting. Please call the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Friday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. Book Club: The book selection this month is “This Tender Land” by William Kent Krueger. Reserve your copy by calling or stopping by the library. Join us for an informal, interesting and lively discussion.
