MOUNT VERNON – Harold Robert “Harry” Williams Jr., 78, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Harold Robert Williams Sr. and Viola Gladys (Borer) Williams. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from September 1966 to October 1969. He married Margaret “Peggy Sue” (Sibble) Williams on May 25, 1971, who survives.

Harry loved old cars. He owned a 1949 Olds and enjoyed going to car shows. He liked art graphics, models and all kinds of music. He was a great husband and father, and would help anybody in need, especially fellow veterans.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Emmett L. Reisinger of Frazeysburg, Elizabeth A. Garvey of Dresden, John R. Williams and Jason A. Williams; a sister, Dorothy (Fred) Jackson of New York; several in-laws, including Bill and Dot Sibble, Helen Tenny, and Leo and Cindy Sibble, all of Pennsylvania, Dan and Fon Sibble of Indiana, Karen Faulds and Frank Parks of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Adam and Sophia Borer; paternal grandparents, Art and Anita Tollison; and an aunt and uncle, Gladys and Bill Van Kirk.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, with military rites by the Knox Co.
