HOWARD – Mitchell Brooks Railing (Mick) passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, with his siblings by his side. Mick is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Velma Railing; and his brothers, Terry Call and Bart Railing.

He is survived by his wife, Kristine Railing; brother Brad (Jenny) Railing; sister Vina (Todd) Keener; his step-daughter, Justine (Scott) Vandenberghe; two young grandchildren; many nieces and nephews: Wendy (Jeff) DeWeerd, Alan (Courtney) Railing, Blake (Casey) Williams, Vanessa Williams, Ariel Keener, Terry Call, Ryan (Virginia) Call and Misty Speece; and great-nephews, Leelynd and Conner Railing.

Mick enjoyed spending time with his wife and their cats. He also enjoyed family functions like BBQ’s at his brother’s house. One of his favorite hobbies was reading. He loved sci-fi and fantasy books. Mick battled many health conditions over the years, but always kept a positive attitude. He was always available when other family members or friends needed him.

After months of fighting, Mick eventually lost his battle with COVID-related lung conditions. Mick made the noble choice to donate his body to science so others can ultimately benefit from research related to type 1 diabetes and kidney disease.

His life will be celebrated by a small group of family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 19, and in a larger ceremony for all those who made the choice to donate their body for research, next August.

Mick will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
