MOUNT VERNON – Shirley Marguerite McManaway, 75, of Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon. She was born on March 18, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Ralph and Louisa (Burson) Fawcett.
Shirley retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center with 29 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed coloring, gardening and going on vacations to Pennsylvania, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Donald, whom she married on May 15, 1967; her daughter, Lori (Allen) Gallion of Clark; grandchildren, Brittany (Joey) Zollars, Scott (Halay) Zollars and Cole (Jolissa) Zollars; five great-grandchildren, Jazlynn, Janessa, Caden, Kaizer and Weston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Donnie McManaway; sisters, Joyce Nicholas and Patricia Brown; and a brother, Ralph “Butch” Fawcett.
