MOUNT VERNON – Dancing Bee Market & Studio, 3 N. Main St. in Mount Vernon, is open under a new brand and with a freshly renovated classroom space. Jami Ingledue, owner of natural soap & body products company Dancing Bee Farms, took over ownership of the Makers’ Market in November 2021, and set out to make it into a community space where local artists could not only sell their creations, but also share their talents with the community. After a major renovation, the space has been hosting classes since August.
Dancing Bee Farms has been creating natural soaps and body products since 2010. The Market now features soaps and lotions, body butters, sugar scrubs, products for men, and much more, but also a variety of handmade creations, with a special emphasis on local makers and eco-friendly products. Classes include everything from soapmaking to kids’ drawing to evening macrame lessons with wine.
“I wanted to carry on what Kim Weitkamp started at the Makery and then the Makers’ Market: building community,” says Ingledue. “A place where anyone can come and sit down with other people that might be different, and build a connection through creating together. And a place where kids and teens can learn different mediums to create and express themselves without any concern about grades or curriculum.”

Dancing Bee soaps & body products are also available on the site, including the yearly Advent Calendar, a seasonal favorite containing 24 days of bath & body treats, all of which can be shipped anywhere in the US.
