Wednesday, Oct. 5, 12, 19, and 26, at 10 a.m. Story Time with Miss Kathy: Join Miss Kathy for stories and activities for children birth to preschool age.

Friday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. Recipe Exchange: The theme for this month is crock pot recipes. Prepare your favorite crock pot recipe to share with the group. Remember to bring the recipe, too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share, and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks will be provided.

Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. Medicare Discussion: Jason Barber of TLC Insurance will lead a discussion and answer questions about Medicare and the various options and plans available. There will be new plans available for Knox County residents in 2023.

Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Teen Crafting: Create Halloween Potion Bottles. Registration is required. Call or stop by the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Thursday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crafting: Call to schedule a time to create a wood slice pumpkin craft. All materials are provided.

Thursday, Oct. 13 and 27, at 5 p.m. Ukulele Association of Homer: This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Monday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. Essential Oil Class: Join Rochelle Walters with Young Living for a pumpkin spice bash. Learn the benefits of essential oils, make a pumpkin spice cleaner and enjoy light refreshments, too. There will be a minimal charge for supplies.

Monday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. Crafting: Join Sheila Geiling to create your own felt acorns and polymer clay necklaces using natural materials. Call or stop by the library to register for this event.

Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 p.m. Teen Paint Night: Create a painting of a black cat and a pumpkin. Call the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Thursday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m. Teen Movie and Pizza Night: Get ready for Halloween at the library with "Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark." The movie is rated PG-13. Registration is required by Wednesday, Oct. 19. Call or stop by the library to save your spot.

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21 and 22, at 9 a.m. Garage and Book Sale: The garage is being cleaned out and the collection is being weeded. Items will be available to take home for a donation. The sale will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both days.

Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. Halloween Festival: Stop by the library annex building to enjoy a fun family time. There will be games, prizes and treats for kids of all ages.

Friday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. Adult Book Club: The book selection this month is “What Was Mine” by Helen Klein Ross. Reserve your copy by calling or stopping by the library. Join us for an informal, interesting and lively discussion.
