Saint Paul's Episcopal Church's annual Appalachian 'hymnody' set for Aug. 14

MOUNT VERNON – As the community enjoys the annual Music and Arts Festival, the parish of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 100 East High St., will celebrate with its Appalachian "hymnody" in the worship service on Sunday, Aug. 14. 

The service, which is an annual offering of Saint Paul's parish to the community, will begin at 9:30 a.m., and all are invited to attend. Guitar, fiddle and banjo will take the place of the piano and organ in this service. Several area musicians will participate in the music ministry through favorite hymns such as "Amazing Grace," "Shall We Gather at the River," "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,: "Holy Manna," "Down to the River to Pray," "I'll Fly Away," "I Saw the Light" and "Just Over in the Glory Land." All are welcome.
