GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Kenyon Owls athletic program has hit another scholastic home run for academic achievement. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced last week that 700 member college and high school programs earned the 2022 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. Among those 700, the Kenyon College Owls were one of just 154 NCAA Division III programs to be recognized.

To be eligible for the academic award, a team had to have a coach that is a current ABCA member and had to have members of its 2022 roster combine for a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. The Owls had no problem clearing the minimum, as the 36 members of this past season’s team posted a combined 3.41 grade point average.

In addition to academic success, the 2022 Kenyon club racked up a 23-13 overall record and an 11-7 North Coast Athletic Conference record.

The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award was Kenyon’s fifth consecutive and sixth in the past seven seasons.
