Wesley and Dorothy Rine celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 8. | Submitted

BLADENSBURG – Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Rine of Newark, formerly of Bladensburg, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2022.

Wesley and Dorothy (Hill) Rine were married on June 9, 1962, at the Bladensburg Church of Christ, officiated by the Rev. Ron Moyer. They both graduated from Bladensburg High School. They have two children, Kevin (Amy) Rine of Hanover and Kimberly Rine of Newark. They also have two grandchildren and one great-grandaughter.

Wesley retired from Sprint in 2002 after 32 years of service as a lineman. Dorothy retired from Velvet Ice Cream in 2006 after 29 years of service as an office manager.

Together, they enjoyed trips on their covered wagons, camping and being with family. One of the most memorable trips they took was with Lester, Inez, Dan and Ruth Rine. They traveled in covered wagons from Coshocton County back to Bladensburg riding in 8-mile increments. The pioneer-style wagons they built during the winter months of 1978 cost between $150-$200. Since they used teams of horses on the farm, it was a super-inexpensive summer activity.

Their children and grandchildren would like to congratulate them on 60 years of marriage and want to thank them for their unconditional love and commitment to family. The couple will celebrate the occasion at dinner hosted by the family sometime in June.
