Love what matters 04

MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival hosts a special show, "Love: What Matters" on Saturday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at the historic Woodward Opera House, 107 South Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon.

“'Love: What Matters' is an evening exploring the energy of love through the creative skills of local artists,” says Festival co-director Joseph Bell. “Appreciate an evening wandering through different interpretations of this emotion as portrayed through music, dance and drama. Ask yourself, ‘What is love?’ and come see many different aspects of this mystical sentiment. Support the festival. Support the arts. Support the community.”

A group of local singers and performers will address the subject of love in a variety of different ways. The lineup includes The Heritage Singers, a 12-person ensemble of Knox County residents, along with solo and duet performances from Ashleigh Baker, Shawn and Elizabeth Barrett, Cate Blair-Wilhelm, Megan Campbell, Jordan Shremshock, Larry Splain, Matt Starr and Kelly Yerxa Lauth.

The event is a fundraiser for the 2022 Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival, held the second weekend of August downtown. Tickets are $25 each, $10 for kids 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased through Eventbrite by searching for events in Mount Vernon, Ohio, or directly at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/love-what-matters-play-tickets-342643314377.
