MOUNT VERNON – Mary Beth Bird, 60, died of natural causes the afternoon of Monday, May 16, 2022. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on March 4, 1962, to the late Martha Ann (Roach) and Charles O. Bird, the ninth of eleven children.

A graduate of Fredericktown High School, Mary earned her baccalaureate degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and her MBA from Ashland University. Early in her career, she was employed by the former Ludlow Corp. of Mount Vernon and LiTel Communications of Columbus. Mary had just celebrated her 30-year anniversary with the federal Defense Finance and Accounting Service, where she worked as a database administrator.

Mary was looking forward to retirement, pursuing her hobbies and travel. 

In addition to her siblings, Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. 

Devore-Snyder Funeral Home of Sunbury is assisting the family with arrangements. 

A celebration of Mary’s life is planned for later this summer.
