Keim's Country Furniture in Danville features Amish furniture, including items made from reclaimed barn wood, manager Becky Miller told the Mount Vernon News.
"It was started in 1991," Miller said. "It's been through a couple of different owners. But it's still in the same location. We've added on to since the beginning when it was a small store. We've added quite a bit of outdoor furniture and indoor furniture."
Much of the furniture is from local Amish furniture makers. Other pieces are built right there in the store.
"It's mostly locally made, within an hour of here," Miller said. "We have a couple of lines of upholstered furniture that come from out of state but everything else is locally made. Nothing from China."
There is furniture for the entire house.
"From dining rooms to bedrooms, to living room, children's furniture, outdoor, we have a lot of different options," she said. "Dining room furniture has always been the most popular and we sell a lot of living room furniture."
Barnwood furniture includes dining room tables, kitchen islands, bedroom and living room furniture," she said. "Pretty much anything can be made out of it."
A lot of the barn wood is from local barns that have been torn down, said Miller.
"It turns out really nice," she said. "A lot of people might have an all-white kitchen but then they have a barn wood island, which is a nice accent," she said.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.
The store offers layaway plans for customers who want to pay over time.
