FREDERICKTOWN – Betty S. Campbell, 70, of Fredericktown passed away on Thursday morning, May 12, 2022, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born on July 9, 1951, in Pine Mount, Kentucky, to the late William Hensley and Elizabeth (Spradlin) Hensley Gambrel.
In 1969, Betty graduated from Stivers High School in Dayton. She had worked for Ward-Kraft in Fredericktown and Central Business Forms in Mount Vernon. Betty loved the springtime calling it the time of new beginnings. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and anything associated with the great outdoors.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, James E. Campbell, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1974; her sons, Jerry (Robin) Campbell of Fredericktown and Chris Campbell of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Rhiannon Campbell and Ethan Campbell of Dublin and Logan Hansen of Fredericktown; sisters, June McWilliams and Ann Mahan of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, William; her mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Tom Gambrel who raised her; daughter, Jodi Campbell Hansen; sisters, Mary Ellen Hill and Ruth Hensley; and brothers, Wayne and Curt Hensely.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
