The Clever Clovers 4-H Club met at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church.

Pledges were led by James Bonnette.

Phoebe Hults called roll with the question “What is your favorite animal?”

Eight members and four Cloverbuds were present.

Minutes were read and approved.

Service project of volunteering for Community Roots garden was discussed, as well as a possible nursing home visit.

James Bonnette gave the treasurer’s report.

Money-making projects at the fair will be a pop stand and an ice cream stand; club members will work at one or both.

Lilly Schlairet gave a safety report on bike safety: always wear a properly fitting helmet and appropriate footwear; be sure pedals and brakes are functional and tires are inflated.

Two members gave demonstrations: Dallas Goins presented a diagram showing the cuts of meat on a goat, and Nevaeh White talked about the care, feeding and showing of goats.

Junior fair entry (online) will be open May 13 to June 12.

The club’s next meeting will be Thursday, May 19. Demonstrations will be given by Cooper Ferguson, Jasper Bruff, James Bonnette and Kyleigh White. Refreshments will be provided by the Bruffs.
