Knox Public Health has posted a notice on vaccine availability that will be updated regularly as conditions change. Anyone 5 and older is eligible for the Pfizer vaccine; third-dose Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations, along with booster shots which are a smaller dose, and second dose Johnson & Johnson are all available currently. "All three of the vaccines offered by KPH can be intermingled, i.e. someone can get first and second doses of Moderna and a booster shot from Pfizer," according to a press release from Knox Public Health. SNAP-Ed is now providing virtual programming to eligible audiences. Knox County SNAP-Ed staff member Tanner Cooper-Risser will be providing a virtual series called "Eating for the Health of it" with Opportunity Knox. Cooper-Risser will be discussing tips on making healthy food choices and ways to save money while still following a healthy lifestyle. Knox County Pheasants Forever is holding its 14th annual Youth Day. Events: shooting sports (including archery, rifle, shotgun and muzzle loaders shooting), build a birdhouse, make a hummingbird feeder, leather crafting, pine cone crafts, living history, fur pelt demonstrations, photo IDs, first aid, fly tying, dog demonstrations, fishing, conservation, panning for gold, duck hunting, tomahawk throwing, outdoor cooking, exploring archaeology, edible soil, ice cream in a bag, miniature golf and more. Partnering with the Knox County Pheasants Forever are: ODNR Division of Wildlife, Knox County Fish & Game Association, Knox Soil & Water Conservation District, OSU Extension, Knox County Park District, Brown Family Environmental Center, Ohio Valley Muzzle Loader Gun Club, Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, Danville Outdoors, Rick's Sporing Goods, The Campbell Family, Knox County Victims Assistance, Division of Forestry, Knox Public Health & Community Center, Kokosing Valley Jr Anglers, Chuck Payne, American Association of Gold Panners, Knox County Career Center, and Fredericktown Community Fire District. Important: For boys and girls ages 3-17; all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No pets. Do not bring firearms or archery; they will be supplied. You may bring fishing poles.

Riverside Recovery Services will be offering one free game to the public in honor of April being Alcoholism Awareness Month. As an agency, Riverside Recovery Services are trying to bring awareness to this disease that affects so many people and their families. This is a family friendly event open to the public. Families are encouraged to bring their children and enjoy an alcohol-free, safe and fun event. There will be door prizes.
