The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s track and field team finished ninth at the Crossroads League Indoor Championships, hosted by Taylor University on Saturday. On the men’s side, the Cougars placed seventh, but Kyler Dickey claimed the conference championship in the shot put.

The men’s track and field team made a strong push in the second day of competition, finishing in seventh with 48.50 points. Dickey was a top performer, winning the Crossroads League shot put crown. The senior from Dover won the competition with an “A” Standard throw of 16.66 meters (54.659 feet). This is the third indoor shot put championship of Dickey's career. Erich Rhodeback claimed All-Conference honors in the 60-meter hurdles with a third place finish. Rhodeback had a “B” Standard time of 8.29 seconds and Jaden Haldeman placed second for an All-Conference spot in the Heptathlon and hit the “B” Standard with 4351 total points.

On the women’s side,  Macy Weaver placed sixth out of 22 runners in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:33.56. Ellyn Coe and Morgan Forney placed seventh and eighth in the 1,000-meter run with times of 3:11.31 and 3:12.88, respectively and Morgan Maffett and Makayla Roberts placed ninth and tenth in the shot put with throws of 10.80 meters and 10.72 meters, respectively.
