MOUNT VERNON – Dick McLarnan was re-elected president of the Knox Educational Service Center Governing Board during the board’s recent 2022 organizational meeting.

McLarnan has served on the board for 47 years.

Laurie Gallwitz, who recently completed her first year on the board, was elected vice president.

Other board members and their length of service include Donnie Rogers, 12 years; Vicki Bechtel, 10 years; and Ken Boeshart, eight years.

McLarnan, Bechtel and Rogers also serve on the board of directors of the Knox County Career Center, where McLarnan is president.

The Knox Educational Service Center develops, implements and operates cooperative, shared educational services for the Centerburg, Clear Fork Valley, Danville, East Knox, Fredericktown and Mount Vernon City school districts and the Knox County Career Center.

The ESC also operates two facilities: its preschool at the New Hope Early Education Center and the K-12 Learning Center in the former Mount Vernon West Elementary building.

Timm Mackley is superintendent of the Knox ESC.
