Beth Hardwick, Cardington-Lincoln’s top-scoring basketball senior, said she would play her college basketball at Kentucky Christian University at her college signing last Saturday before C-L’s match-up with Fredericktown.at Cardington-Lincoln High School.
Hardwick said she plans on majoring in biology with a pre-med track.
Hardwick, the 5-foot-9-inch guard, has led the Pirates to an 8-0 start and 5-0 in KMAC play. She is coming off a 20-point, eight-rebound, three-assist game vs. Danville. In her first seven games this season, Hardwick averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists. She also has an average of 3.6 steals and 0.4 blocks per game and is hitting 47% of her shots from the floor – 51% from two-point range at 32-for-63 and 42% from 3-point range at 15-for-36. She hit for 25 points against Pleasant on Nov. 27 and 20 against Danville on Dec. 11, with 19-point games against Ridgedale on Nov. 20 and East Knox on Dec. 4.
Hardwick and her teammates celebrated the occasion by defeating Fredericktown, 56-28, in the game that followed, to record their 61st consecutive KMAC win and 46th consecutive regular-season win. Hardwick led the Lady Pirates by scoring 13 points, and six of her teammates joined the celebration by contributing points.
