BLADENSBURG – The refurbished old Bladensburg Elementary School, now the home of the Bladensburg Community Center, 25821 New Guilford Road, will be the site of an art and craft show from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
Featured will be local talents of a quilting group who call themselves Lost Buttons. They will be displaying quilts of all designs, colors, shapes and sizes.
Local artisans who have created hand-built and wheel-thrown pottery, alcohol ink paintings and cards, hand-woven rugs, wreaths, knitted and crocheted treasures, laser-engraved wood items and more will be on hand.
"We are thrilled to be hosting this art and craft show again, and are excited to have an even greater number of vendors,” said Kim Davidson, president of the Bladensburg Community Heritage Foundation, which operates the Bladensburg Community Center. “There will be a variety of artisans and crafters available, and we should have something that will interest just about everyone. We will also food available for lunch, on a donation basis through our local East Knox Lions Club. There will be free door prizes, too. Admission is free, and there is plenty of free parking as well.”
