Thirteen members of the Kenyon College softball team were named 2021 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes, the association announced Tuesday. Additionally, the Ladies, as a team, had a grade point average that ranked top 10 among all NCAA Division III teams.
Members of the 2021 Ladies club combined for a 3.780 team grade point average, which ranked them at the No. 9 spot in the NFCA’s top-10 list for NCAA Division III. The Ladies had previously won the NFCA’s team academic award three times since the 2014 campaign, but the 2021 season marked the first time they cracked the top 10 for grade point average.
On an individual basis, those members of the team earning All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition were Bella Albrecht, Nicole Archambeau, Nicole Bishay, Madeline Friday, Samantha Goldenson, Olivia Hurley, Madde Hyland, Clare McMahon, Paige Milhon, Emily Pater, Kathryn Riggs, Kassie Rimel and Tori Rogers.
Albrecht, Hurley, Hyland, McMahon, Pater and Riggs are all now two-time winners of the award, which honors those softball players who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better.
