NEW ALBANY – Lou Ellen “Patty” Beetham, 74, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, in New Albany. Patty was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on May 9, 1947, and moved with her family to Columbus in her early years of life. She was a graduate of Hilliard Schools and attended The Ohio State University. Later in her life moved and lived for many years in Mount Vernon and Apple Valley areas in Ohio.
Throughout her life, Patty truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with anyone and everyone, snacking (anything with sugar), and spending time with friends and family. A favorite pastime in her early years was baking in the sun and turned to an avid western TV show watcher later in life. She also enjoyed playing the piano and painting, when her hands would allow, and most of all taking care of her critters. It seemed as though any animal that had any type of issue would find Patty, and they knew she would take care of them like no one else. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and those of you who knew her know that she would go a little overboard. She also had an amazing collection of Santas that she left out all year long. She had a giving heart and adopted so many friends into her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them as much as she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John (Jack) William Patton and Alice Ester Patton (Morgan); and brother, Daniel Patton.
Patty will be lovingly remembered by her son, Chris (Zan) Beetham; and grandchildren, Makayla (Aaron) Becks, Jack Beetham, Maeve Beetham and Brady Beetham.
