Kenyon runner Alice Riley named NCAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week

Earlier his week, four days after winning the first race of the 2021 season, Kenyon College junior Alice Riley was voted the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Riley earned the honor based on her championsdhip performance in a tri-meet Sept. 3 hosted by the Kenyon Ladies. Among the three teams involved, there were 29 participants, and Riley was the first to cross the finish line. The long-distance runner finished off the 5K course in 19:40.8, cruising past the second-place runner, Mount Vernon Nazarene's Morgan Forney, by more than 16 seconds.

Riley and the rest of the Kenyon Ladies team will now turn their attention to this Saturday’s NCAC Preview Meet, which will be hosted by Wittenberg University.
