HOMER – Homer Public library has released the following schedule of events for the month of September. The library is following new hours of operation: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Any questions, call Amie Hatfield, Director at 740-892-2020.

Friday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m.: Recipe Exchange – Fall fruit or vegetable dish will be the theme for recipe exchange. Prepare your favorite dish for sharing. Don’t forget to bring the recipe, too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks provided.

Wednesdays, Sept. 8, 15, 22, and 29, 10 a.m.: Story Time with Miss Kathy – This month will start an all-new story time. The story sessions will be divided into age groups, this season, to offer age-appropriate activities and more individual attention to the children. The divisions are not strict guidelines. You decide which group your child/children will attend. Miss Kathy will simply focus on specific ages as she selects stories, crafts, etc. There will be one theme throughout the month. The plan is to have a different age group each week of the month. The first week of each month: age 0-18 months (Baby Bookworms), second week of each month age 18 to 36 months (Toddlers & Twos), third week of each month: age 3 (Thrilling Threes), and the fourth week of each month: 4 and up (Fabulous Fours & Fives). If you have more than one child, you are welcome to select any one group which works best or come multiple times each month. If you have any questions, call the library or email kmegaw@seolibraries.org.

Thursdays, Sept. 9 and 23, 5 p.m.: Ukulele Association of Homer – This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Thursday, Sept. 16, 5 p.m.: Bigfoot Presentation – Join us and Ohio’s premier Bigfoot researcher, Marc DeWerth, for an informative presentation on Bigfoot.
