Morgan Brozena was recently announced as the new head coach of the Ladies field hockey program by Jill McCartney, Kenyon's director of athletics.

Brozena will become the 13th head coach in the Ladies' prestigious 49-year history, after predecessor Jacque Demarco left the program after nine seasons and a 111-47 record.

"I am incredibly excited and grateful to be named head coach for the Kenyon field hockey program. I want to thank Jill McCartney, Kelly Bryan and the entire search committee for this opportunity to lead the Ladies," Brozena said. "Kenyon is dedicated to providing students the ability to excel both academically and athletically. The Ladies have a long history of success in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), and I am quite optimistic that we will continue that this season and into the future."

Brozena was most recently the head coach at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa.; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lady Falcons' squad was limited to engaging in a couple of scrimmages.

Previously, Brozena worked at NCAA Division II University of New Haven, where she was the graduate assistant in 2017 before being promoted to assistant coach for the following two seasons.

The Lady Chargers' program needed a strong foundation and looked toward Brozena to help foster a winning culture as they began their inaugural season in 2017.

"Morgan's enthusiasm is infectious, and her willingness to seek out greater challenges says a lot about her capacity for growth and achievement," McCartney said. "Kenyon field hockey has set high standards for competition, and I am confident that Coach Brozena will build on that success."

Brozena, a native of Telford, Pa., was known as a tenacious goalkeeper during her playing days at Washington and Jefferson College.

She started for the Lady Presidents as a goalkeeper for three seasons, with over 3,000 minutes of playing time during 46 contests.

Brozena finished with a 25-18 career record with a dozen shutouts and 219 career saves, ranking her second in school history.
