The Mount Vernon Ohio Pickleball Club will hold a Summer Slam tournament at Memorial Park from Aug. 27–29.

The registration cost is $35, and participants can sign up from now until Aug. 13 at 11:45 p.m.

The Summer Slam will feature an outdoor round-robin tournament with a single-elimination medal bracket to determine winners, according to the group's Facebook post. The competition is limited to a maximum of six teams per bracket. If less than six teams sign up in some brackets, more than six teams will likely be allowed in other brackets.

Interested contestants must register a filled bracket and go on the wait list. Teams will know by early August if some of the brackets will be expanded to eight. Four teams from round-robin will advance to the medal bracket.

Friday, August 27 – Senior 55 plus – 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 – Men's and Women's doubles

Saturday, August 28 – Under 55 – 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 – Men's and Women's doubles

Sunday, August 29 – Senior 55 plus and Under 55 – 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 – Mixed doubles

Each player is eligible to play in a max of two divisions that meets his or her age and skill requirements, with one being a gender division and the other a mixed doubles division.

The $35 registration fee includes one event, and additional events cost $10 each.
