2021 Chrysler Pacifica

The Chrysler Pacifica has been a very successful model in the category, as the company touts its product as the most-awarded minivan five years in a row. The 2021 Pacifica starts with an MSRP of $35,820 and can comfortably seat seven, with “stow-and-go” seating that tucks neatly away to make more cargo room. There are four standard models and four hybrids to choose from. The base model is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine with 287 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission. It can be expected to get up to 19 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway.

2021 Toyota Sienna

It has been more than a decade since the viral music video came out renaming the line as the “Swagger Wagon,” but the popularity of the Toyota Sienna hasn’t waned. The 2021 model is out, redesigned for more space and comfort which will be greatly appreciated by the families who make up its biggest customer base. The 2021 Toyota Sienna starts at $34,460 and is available in three trims. The base model comes with seating for eight and plenty of extra perks like keyless remote entry, backup camera and Toyoa’s Star Safety System. It operates on a hybrid 2.5L engine with a net 245 horsepower that gets 36 mpg city or highway driving.

2022 Kia Carnival

Kia is already looking forward to 2022 with its latest in this segment. This past year, Kia ditched the Sedona line with its “minivan” designation and replaced it with the new Carnival line, touted as a “multi-purpose vehicle.” However it is defined, the Carnival offers roomy comfort and power at a relatively low starting price of $32,100. The base model comes with a 3.5L V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 3,500-pound towing capacity. It has seating for seven and USB ports aplenty for all of the devices those seven passengers come with. It can be expected to deliver 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

2022 Honda Odyssey

Honda is also on the road already with its 2022 minivan. The Odyssey has been a staple in the North American minivan market since 1994 and is now on its fifth generation of the line. The 2022 Honda Odyssey starts at $32,090 making it one of the more affordable minivans on the market. It seats up to seven (eight with higher trims) and comes with a host of added driver-assisting safety features. Its V6 engine delivers 280 horsepower and 262 pounds per foot of torque, and can get up to 19 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway.
