HOWARD – Lillian Marie Sanford, beloved aunt, daughter and sister, passed away at age 64.

Marie was born on July 2, 1956, in Columbus, to James and Esther (Mays) Sanford.

Marie enjoyed music, reading, puzzles and games of all kinds. She was particularly good at card games. She was passionate about her family and devoted her life to caring for and nurturing all she loved. She was known for her mischievous sense of humor, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

She is survived by her brothers, Donald and Robert; her sister-in-law, Linda; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, James; and her mother, Esther.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, at the Methodist Cemetery in Martinsburg.
