MOUNT VERNON – M. Joyce Hines, 91, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon. She was born on Feb. 13, 1930, in Washington, Pennsylvania, to the late Walter and Bernice (Schwartz) Wilson.

Joyce was a 1948 graduate of Bridgeville High School in Pennsylvania. She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania and the Olean Medical Group in New York. She was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church. Joyce enjoyed playing cards with her friends, sewing and craft making.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Shane) Stone, Robert (Margaret) Hines and Jeffrey (Susan) Hines; five grandchildren, Melissa Stone, Chase (Paige) Stone, Tyler Hines, Rheannon (Nick) Coleman and Sennecca (Ariann) Stone; 10 great-grandchildren, Makaylia, Gavyn, Landon, Kaiden, Addison, Julia, Shane, Liam, Trey and Brilynn; a sister, Shirley Hilger; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hines; a grandson, Brandon Stone; and a brother, Richard Wilson.

The family will have a graveside service for Joyce at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21, in Mound View Cemetery, with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Joyce’s memory.
