MOUNT VERNON – Audrey L. Bostwick, 94, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on Jan. 23, 1927, in Mount Vernon to the late Basil and Mabel (Hunter) Clippinger. 

Audrey graduated from Mount Vernon High School and worked for several retail stores, including Hufford’s Ben Franklin in Utica, Hallmark in Mount Vernon and Lazarus in Heath. She volunteered for the Licking County Red Cross, Knox Community Hospital and Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She was a member of the Utica United Methodist Church, UMW (United Methodist Women) and TWIGS #20 (Togetherness, Willingness, Imagination, Giving and Sharing) for Licking Memorial Hospital. Audrey enjoyed embroidering, reading and taking care of her beautiful flower garden. What she loved most was being around her family.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Shirley Bostwick and Annette (Steve) Shroyer; granddaughter, Jennifer Huckeby; sisters-in-law, Janet Clippinger and Janet (Richard) Hall; and several nieces and nephews. 

Along with her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clayton Bostwick; sisters, Wilma Hull and Donna Clippinger; and twin brothers, Walter and William Clippinger. 

A funeral service will take place at noon on Wednesday, May 19, with an hour of calling from 11 a.m. to noon at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050; with Pastor Clarence Hensel officiating. Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Brandon, Utica or St. Louisville.
