MOUNT VERNON – A representative of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) will visit Mount Vernon to view the newly expanded Children's Resource Center at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 30.

Interim Director Matt Damschroder will visit the center, adjacent to the Opportunity Knox facility at 17606 Coshocton Road, a press release from Knox County Job & Family Services said.

During the event, a tree will be planted on the property in honor of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Month.

Other officials expected to attend are Laura Abu-Absi, deputy director of the Ohio JFS Directors' Association; Angela Sausser, executive director of the Public Children Services Association of Ohio; and state Rep. Rick Carfagna (R-Genoa Twp.).

"Knox County JFS is honored to have Director Damschroder and these other distinguished attendees coming to Mount Vernon to highlight our agency's collaboration with The Village Network and the ongoing need for protective services for children," the press release said.
