HOWARD – Loren Leo Reese, 89, of Howard (Millwood and formerly of Conway, Georgia), passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Country Club Campus in Mount Vernon, under the care of Kindred Hospice. He was born on Aug. 6, 1931, in Millersburg, to the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Smeeth) Reese of Millwood.

Loren graduated from Howard High School in 1950. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly in the Korean War. He also studied to become an airplane mechanic in Miami, and he worked as a mechanic for several airlines in Atlanta until his retirement from Delta Airlines many years later.

Loren loved spending time with his fiancée, Grace Hindsman, and her family for the many years he lived in Atlanta. He attended the Presbyterian church both in Atlanta and in Millwood throughout his life.

Loren had a passion for golfing and working with his many tractors, both in Georgia and in Ohio. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and attending family get-togethers.

He is survived by his nieces, Christy Tracy (Mike) Stricker of Granville and Laura Tracy (Ken) Chapin of Mount Vernon; grandniece, Tracy (Mark) Sims of Sylvania; grandnephews, Eric Stricker of Granville and Nick (Laura) Chapin of Ostrander; and many great-grandnieces and -nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his close first cousin, Karen (Jim) Kennedy of New Castle, Delaware. Loren is also survived by his fiancée's niece, Beth Forrester; and nephews, John (Sharon) Forrester and Steve (Denise) Forrester; all of Georgia.

Along with his parents, Loren was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorthy Reese Meenan and Mary Ellen Reese Tracy.

In keeping with Loren’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
