MANSFIELD – The Renaissance Theatre will continue the online class offerings it began last year during the pandemic with a new series of RENspiration Classroom sessions beginning the week of Feb. 22.
Participants will meet once a week for four weeks for a variety of educational theater activities designed with creativity in mind. Sessions are scheduled to allow families to explore the arts while accommodating other winter activities.
Coordinator Dauphne Maloney, a Renaissance resident teaching artist, hopes the online resources will reach not only students, but teachers and parents as well.
“The RENspiration Classroom Initiative continues to bring together young people from throughout the north-central Ohio region and beyond, as they meet for arts-focused activities through our ‘virtual classroom,’” Maloney stated in a press release. “It’s been reaffirming to observe the ways in which students connect — even though they’re in a remote setting.”
The free classes are targeted toward students of different ages and grade bands, from 3 years of age through twelfth grade.
As of Feb. 8, interested parents and educators can visit the Renaissance website at rentickets.org/renspiration to register for a variety of sessions. Each session has a limited number of spots available.
