MOUNT VERNON — Stanley Edward Eshelman, 88, of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon.
Stan was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Fredericktown, to Edward “Shorty” and Rose (Hammil) Eshelman.
He graduated Fredericktown High School in 1950. Stanley proudly served in the United States Army stationed in Germany.
He married Linda Brillhart on Aug. 12, 1956.
Stan worked for almost thirty years for Cooper-Bessemer, and then worked for Columbia Gas until his retirement. Stan and Linda have attended Berean Faith Fellowship for many years. Stan loved hunting, yard work, bird watching, Ohio State sports, western books, but most importantly his family.
Stan will be deeply missed by his wife Linda; children Amy Eshelman, Steve Eshelman, Kurt (Trish) Eshelman, and Ann (Jan) Guinsler; grandchildren Lindsay (Brian) Vail, Jordan, JJ, Clarice Guinsler, Gracie Guinsler, Hattie (Ronnie) Crumbaker, and Daphne Eshelman; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother David Eshelman. Stan was also a father figure to many.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Berean Faith Fellowship 103 Madison St., Mount Vernon, with Pastor Gordy Harmon officiating. On Aug. 12, 2021, interment will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
