MOUNT VERNON – Michael A. Smith, 61, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. He was born on April 12, 1959, in Mount Vernon to the late LeRoy and Isabell (Grennell) Smith.
Mike love making key chains, ornaments and Buckeye necklaces for family and friends. He enjoyed watching soap operas and the Cincinnati Bengals. Mike loved going to the First Presbyterian Church and making many friends there. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
He is survived by his brothers, Eddie Smith and Jim Smith; a sister, Helen Berger; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Gary and Philip Smith; and step-father, Robert Smith.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, with an hour of calling from 10-11 a.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road; Mount Vernon, OH 43050, with Pastor Ross Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
