The City of Mount Vernon on Wednesday announced that the boil advisory issued Tuesday will remain in effect until at least 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5.
The initial announcement was issued following a citywide water disruption Tuesday due to a water main break.
The water main break led to a road closure on West Gambier Street between South Main and South Mulberry streets.
This is the second time in a little over two weeks the city has had a boil advisory due to a water main break.
The last incident, on Oct. 14, caused a three-day boil advisory.
