MOUNT VERNON — John Irving Ferguson, 78, passed away Feb. 20, 2020.
John was born Nov. 13, 1941 in Mount Vernon, the youngest son of Adrienne and Irving W. Ferguson.
John attended Mount Vernon High School and was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with both undergraduate and MBA degrees in accounting, finance, and IT. John was an honors student in high school and college. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years in various divisions of the company in the greater Detroit area before leaving to pursue his “retirement job” with Vanguard, where he worked for 15 years.
John was an active member of West Chester United Methodist Church, where he served on the finance committee and for several years was on the Children’s Center Board.
John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Thorius Ferguson; one brother, William O. Ferguson; his children, Kathy Hayes (Harry), Andrew Ferguson (Sandra); step-children, Robert Larsen, Kenneth Larsen, Christine Larsen Rincon, Karin Larsen Kearns (deceased); daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Larsen; son-in-law Benjamin Rincon; grandchildren, Zoe Hayes Feliciano, Zander Hayes, Joshua Ferguson, Abby Ferguson, Micah Ferguson, Emma Larsen Stafford, Christopher Larsen, Erin Larsen, David Larsen, Benjamin Rincon, Kylie Rincon; and great-grandson, Andrew Stafford.
