Burglary leads to 2 charges

MOUNT VERNON — Two people were indicted by the Knox County grand jury April 22 on similar charges after an incident in Howard in mid-April.

Savion D. Washington, 30, and Kaylan D. Kincer, 24, both of Mount Vernon, were each charged with one count of burglary, a second-degree felony, and one of assault, a first-degree misdemeanor, that allegedly occurred in the Howard area on April 19.

During the incident, Washington and Kincer allegedly assaulted two different people at a residence in the 21000 block of Schenck Creek Road. The burglary charges were brought due to being trespassers at the residence when the alleged assaults occurred, according to the charges.

Other grand jury indictments from April 22 include: Kody E. Williams, 20, Mount Vernon, was indicted on counts of possession of heroin and permitting drug abuse, both fifth-degree felonies; Melvin R. Fiske, 32, Mount Vernon, was indicted on a charge of having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; Damian M. Crites, 24, Mansfield, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree; April D. Stewart-Brumley, 41, Mount Vernon, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; Karen F. Leasure, 48, Mount Vernon, was indicted on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree, and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; Decoda S. Ness, 23, Gambier, was indicted on the fifth-degree felony charge of aggravated possession of drugs; Rebecca L. Turner, 47, Mount Vernon, was indicted on one count of forgery, a felony of the fifth degree; Christopher C. Creech, 50, Centerburg, was indicted on a charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; burglary, a felony of the second degree and theft, a fifth-degree felony; Douglas M. Blanchard, 52, Danville, was indicted on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; Paul D. Scott, 50, Mount Vernon, was indicted on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and aggravated trafficking of drugs, a second-degree felony; Avern S. Edwards, 36, Danville, was indicted on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and criminal damaging, a misdemeanor of the second degree; Christopher M. Weaver, 34, Danville, was indicted on a charge of domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree; Darryl Barnes II, 35, Groveport, was indicted on charges of trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fourth degree - which had a forfeiture specification - and a count of possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony; Alvin J. Burton III, 33, was indicted on a charge of possession of heroin, a felony of the fourth degree; Donald E. Johnson, 35, Danville, was indicted on charges of burglary, a third-degree felony, and vandalism, a felony of the fifth degree.
