Knox County’s 2020 outstanding senior citizen

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. has named Larry Andrzejewski as Knox County’s 2020 Outstanding Senior Citizen. Andrzejewski is a Vietnam veteran and former school teacher and football coach who has volunteered for approximately 15 hours a week since he retired 13 years ago.

Nine community organizations received a total of over $120,000 in grant funding in August from the Knox County Foundation for everything from heating and air conditioning to internships. The foundation’s board approved small grants of $5,000 or less and larger grants of more than $5,000,
