Through the Kids Bowl Free Summer Bowling Program, Redskin Lanes in Utica is giving away millions of dollars in free bowling games again this summer.

Three area bowlers were recently inducted into the Newark United States Bowling Congress, (USBC) Hall of Fame. The honorees are Mike Byers, Trent Speer and Donna Benge.

The perfect games keep on rolling at Redskin Lanes in Utica, with two more perfectos reported in local league play.

Let’s talk bowling. OK, first, bowling is a sport, from professional to recreational and from competitive leagues to social leagues. Most of us bowl for fun if we bowl, but to some, every pin is a serious matter, particularly so if we are rolling against a friend or friendly competitor. To most of us, rolling a perfect 300 game is a dream that is farther away from us than lucking into a hole-in-one on a golf course, and perhaps more akin to draining every 20-foot putt.

Redskin Lanes attracts perfect games. Last season, the Utica bowlers’ haven produced 27 reported 300-Games in Bowling leagues. On Nov. 7 in Monday 4x4 play, when Trent Speer rolled a triplicate … three consecutive 300 games.
