City of Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission

The Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the 2024 Zoning Code Update during its June 3 meeting. The previous code was developed in the early 1990s, Law Director Rob Broeren said.

Residents will have another opportunity to comment on the draft of the Mount Vernon 2024 Zoning Code update at 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. The Municipal Planning Commission will hold a special meeting at that time in the council chambers.

The Mount Vernon Municipal Commission is set to review an application from Airco Inc., which proposes the use of the Shellmar site for outdoor storage of its raw and finished products.

The Mount Vernon City Council voted unanimously, 7-0, to appoint Anne Ellsworth to replace Julia Warga on the city Municipal Planning Commission.
