Planning commission gets request to rezone South Main Street property for apartments

Joseph D. Updike will ask the Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission to approve a rezoning request on four parcels of land on South Main Street between Parrot and Adamson Streets from R-1 to R-3 to allow apartment construction. The commission will hear the request on Oct. 10.
MVNU grad wants to open Christian mission on Gambier Street

The Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission will be asked to recommend approval of a conditional use for a charitable club on property zoned for the office business district at 114 E. Gambier Street. The commission will meet at 4 p.m. on Oct. 10 in council chambers.
Mount Vernon Planning Commission recommends zoning code update

The Mount Vernon Municipal Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the 2024 Zoning Code Update during its June 3 meeting. The previous code was developed in the early 1990s, Law Director Rob Broeren said.
