The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight of the Civil Air Patrol recently held a ceremony to announce promotions and appointments for several cadets. On February 2, 2026, Cadet Airmen Jenna Jerkowitz and Griffin Davies were promoted to Cadet Airmen 1st Class after completing the General Hap Arnold Achievement. Carson Sanchez advanced to Cadet Senior Airman upon finishing the Colonel Mary Feik Achievement. Gabriel Hoskins was elevated to Cadet Senior Master Sergeant following the General Jimmy Doolittle Achievement and has been appointed as the unit First Sergeant. Nathaniel Hoskins became a Cadet 2nd Lieutenant after achieving the Brigadier General Billy Mitchell Achievement and was named the first Cadet Commander of the new unit.

Civil Air Patrol cadets who reach this level in their program can enlist in the US Air Force at a higher rank and pay grade of E-3 upon graduation.
The Ohio Wing of Civil Air Patrol also recognized adult volunteers with year-end accolades. Kimberly Cox was named Ohio Wing Administrative Officer of the Year for her contributions to unit administration. John Morgan received the Ohio Wing Colonel Robert Payton Public Affairs Officer of the Year award for his work in public affairs management. Daniel Wilson earned recognition as Aerospace Education Officer of the Year for his role in aerospace education. Craig Cox was awarded Senior NCO of the Year for leadership and mentorship.
Morgan and Wilson will represent Ohio Wing at the Great Lakes Region awards, which include other states' wings like Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
