Homer Public Library announces diverse events for all ages in February

The Homer Public Library has announced a series of events scheduled for February 2026, catering to various age groups and interests. The library will host Story Time every Wednesday at 10:00 am, where children from birth to preschool age can join Miss Shaunta for stories, activities, and crafts.

On Friday, February 6th at 11:00 am, a Recipe Exchange focused on casseroles invites participants to bring their prepared dishes and recipes. Guests are welcome to taste the dishes without bringing any food themselves.

Adults aged 55 and over can explore the GetSetUp program on Monday, February 9th at 10:00 am with Kathy. This program offers live and on-demand classes covering topics from technology basics to wellness tips.

Christa Page from the Veterans Health Administration will lead a discussion on mental health and suicide prevention on Tuesday, February 10th at 2:00 pm. Later that day at 5:30 pm, teens can participate in a DIY Cardboard Heart String Art crafting session.

Miss Shaunta will also lead a homeschool program themed "Valentine’s Day" on Thursday, February 12th at 10:00 am. The Ukulele Association of Homer meets twice this month for practice sessions open to all ages on February 12th and 26th at 5:00 pm.

A Community of Women gathering is set for Wednesday, February 17th at 2:00 pm to foster support among women. Teens have more activities with Paint Night on the same day at 5:30 pm and Movie & Pizza Night featuring "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) on Thursday, February 19th at 5:00 pm.

For those interested in crafts, Ann will guide participants in making knotted leather chevron bracelets on Tuesday, February 24th at 2:00 pm. On Friday, February 27th, the Book Club will discuss "Wishful Drinking" by Carrie Fisher at 11:00 am. Following this event is a meal provided by Licking County Aging Partners and an exercise program by Y on the Fly starting at noon.
