Ridgewood Shuts Out Utica 31-0 Behind Strong Ground Game

In a blowout at Utica, Ridgewood beat Utica 31-0 to win its fourth game and hand Utica its third loss.

Utica held off Ridgewood in the first quarter, when senior Kyler Zyski recovered a fumble to give possession to Utica.

Ridgewood got its first touchdown early in the second quarter. The offense faced fourth-and-goal from less than five yards, and running back Logan Wince scored on a run. The extra point was missed.

After the Generals broke through the Utica defense once, the touchdowns came quickly. With two minutes left in the half, Wince added another rushing touchdown, and the team completed a two-point conversion to make it 14-0.

Ridgewood executed an onside kick to regain possession after the score, leading to another touchdown from receiver Jackson Cabot. The extra point made it 21-0 at halftime.

Utica misplayed the opening kick of the second half, and Ridgewood recovered, setting up a field goal for a 24-0 lead.

Utica nearly scored late in the fourth, but Ridgewood intercepted a pass in the end zone.

With just over a minute left, running back Logan Israel sealed the win with a 23-yard touchdown run to make it 31-0.
