The Mount Vernon community will have the opportunity to attend two events this September, both aimed at supporting Hospice of the Western Reserve.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, there will be a Rodmasters CC Car Show at 17700 Coshocton Ave, where Hospice of Knox County is located. Registration for the car show is from 9 a.m. to noon, with a $15 entry fee per vehicle. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m., recognizing standout entries with dash plaques and trophies. In case of inclement weather, the car show has a rain date scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21.

Adding to the excitement, a silent auction and raffle will be held to provide attendees a chance to win several prizes.. There will also be music and some food to keep the energy high throughout the day. Organizers Scott McClure (phone number: 614-890-0707) and Dennis Bennett (phone number: 740-504-2264) are available for inquiries.

By Saturday, Sept. 20, a Poker Run will be hosted by Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. With a $20 entry free, participants will be collecting poker cards at various stops along a scenic route.

"First task on Sept. 20 is to register and grab your map of stops at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Mount Vernon at 10AM," a Facebook post reads. "Everyone will meet back at 3PM to enjoy local food trucks, music, and raffles. All proceeds to benefit Hospice of the Western Reserve in support of patient care."
