The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology is set to host the Dozers & Diggers event on July 19, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Newark, Ohio. This free community event invites people of all ages to explore large machinery such as forklifts, police cruisers, fire trucks, and construction vehicles. Attendees will have the chance to interact with professionals who operate these machines daily.

The event will feature food trucks, live demonstrations, and family activities. A sensory-friendly hour is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., minimizing loud noises like horns and sirens. Outdoor exploration of the machinery is free and open to the public; however, guests must check in at a tent to receive a wristband for access.

Admission to the museum and indoor activities is offered at a special rate of $8 per person, with members entering for free. SNAP cardholders can gain free admission by presenting their card and ID. Other discounts or library memberships are not applicable during this event.

An accessible restroom provided by Momentum Refresh will be available throughout the day. It includes features like a changing table and ceiling hoist for guests with mobility limitations, supported by the Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Sponsors for Dozers & Diggers include Park National Bank, Boeing, and Continental Building Co. Parking is available at the 2nd Street Parking Garage and other locations in Downtown Newark. Streets such as First Street, Canal Street, and Market Street will be closed during the event.
