Knox County Indivisible has announced a rally in support of children and parents, organized by Knox County OH Indivisible and Signs on the Square. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. on the Mount Vernon Public Square.

According to Knox County Indivisible, the rally will encourage participants to bring signs addressing the impact of economic policies, such as rising grocery prices and cuts to Head Start. This event is part of statewide actions coinciding with Mother's Day weekend and aims to oppose perceived threats to freedoms while advocating for community unity.

"We’re seeing cuts to services critical to children and families, while billionaires get tax breaks," said Meg Galipault, a Knox County Indivisible organizer. "This event is about reminding elected officials who they’re supposed to serve. This administration promises to protect lives. But the only thing we’ve seen protected are profits, sometimes at high costs to children."

Indivisible is described as a national grassroots movement that began with a guide resisting Trump's agenda and evolved into a network of thousands of local groups working towards a more inclusive democracy. Through advocacy, elections, and coordinated action, members organize locally and nationally to challenge right-wing influence and support progressive policies. The organization operates through three branches: Indivisible Project (501c4), leading advocacy efforts; Indivisible Civics (501c3), offering resources and training; and Indivisible Action (PAC), assisting in electing progressive candidates.

Knox County Indivisible is characterized as a nonpartisan grassroots group focused on strengthening democratic systems, promoting equity, and ensuring fair government service. Open to residents in and beyond Knox County, it brings together individuals aligned with progressive goals. Members advocate for inclusive policies aiming for change through civic engagement.
