The Mount Vernon Patriotic Memorial Day Committee has extended an invitation to organizations to participate in the annual Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for Monday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. Participants are required to submit an entry form.

According to the Patriotic Memorial Committee's invitation letter, the parade aims to honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives to preserve American liberties and promote patriotism. The theme for the 2025 parade is "We Honor the Fallen." Entry forms can be accessed online.

The letter further states that organizations interested in participating should complete the entry form and return it via email or mail by May 15. Emails should be sent with "Memorial Day Parade" in the subject line, while mailed entries should be addressed to the City of Mount Vernon Patriotic Memorial Committee.

Participants must check-in between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. at a designated location. Political organizations are requested to align their displays with the parade's theme. Elected officials may display signs indicating their identity but are encouraged to incorporate the theme as well. Clowns are prohibited from participating, and animal entries must avoid private lawns with cleanup provided by participants. Candy distribution is allowed but should be done carefully. Parade organizers reserve the right to remove any entries deemed inappropriate or not aligned with the parade's purpose. All participants are urged to celebrate and honor veterans' service and sacrifice.
